An open-book-inspired character and expression library for an AI learning assistant.
The brief
GYD AI is a learning assistant for practice, quizzes and doubt-solving. The mascot needed to feel helpful and modern while staying closely connected to the brand.
01 / Begin with the identity
The primary character takes its form from the logo’s open-book geometry. A screen-like face, soft proportions and simple structure keep it recognizable at small sizes.
02 / Design for real product moments
Eight expressions cover neutral, happy, excited, thinking, confused, proud, concerned and aha moments. Each supports situations such as onboarding, loading, guidance or success.
03 / Explore and refine
Alternative screen-bot directions test different silhouettes and character details. The expression system stays deliberately simple so the character remains consistent.
The deliverable
A primary mascot direction, eight expressions and alternative character explorations.
